AION 2 error codes and crash fixes
Every error, crash and connection failure we have a fix for, one page per code. Before the fix, each page says whether the problem is your machine or the studio's servers — because if it's theirs, no amount of verifying game files will help, and the only useful answer is whether it's happening right now.

Things you can fix
Crashes, install faults and driver conflicts. Find your symptom, work the steps in order, stop when it launches.
AION 2 0xE0000012 crash after the NCSoft logo (fix)
The game shows the NCSoft logo, starts the planet zoom-in cutscene, then closes itself with no error dialog. Checking the logs afterward shows exit code 0xE0000012.
AION 2 crash 0xE0000013 at the NC logo — unplug USB devices
The game closes during or right after the NC logo, before the title screen. Sometimes NCGuard shows "Error Code Error 0xE0000013 / 0x13"; often it just closes with no message.
AION 2 "Steam account is already linked with another account" (fix)
Linking your Steam account to an existing NCSoft/PURPLE account fails with "your steam account is already linked with another account". Some players then find their Early Access status, Founder's Pack or characters missing.
AION 2 "Unhandled Exception" crash: what it means (fix)
AION 2 closes with a dialog starting "Unhandled Exception: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION reading address 0x..." or "writing address 0x...", then a line such as "AION2.exe + 0x...", a long hash, a list of stack lines and "Crash in runnable thread" followed by a thread name (Background Worker #4, FAsyncLoadingThread and so on).
AION 2 "PresentInternal(SyncInterval) failed" crash (fix)
After the NC logo the game goes to a black screen or closes with "LowLevelFatalError [File:...D3D12Util.cpp] [Line: 1153] PresentInternal(SyncInterval) failed at ...D3D12Viewport.cpp:642 with error DXGI_ERROR_INVALID_CALL". A variant ends "with error 80004004".
AION 2 0xE0000027: Cheat Engine & NCGuard crash fix
AION 2 launches, or runs for a few seconds past the intro, then closes with an NCGuard dialog titled "Aion2.exe - 0xE0000027".
AION 2 error 0xFA000002: NCGuard fails to start (fix)
AION 2 won't start. The NCGuard log ends with "ncg was unable to start protect.cpp @ 662" and "exit:: 0xFA000002". One Reddit poster hit it right after a game update.
AION 2 crashes at launch — try disabling ASUS AURA SYNC
AION 2 closes itself with no error message right at launch, or right after clicking/touching the screen, during the Launch Scale Test playtest.
AION 2 ntdll.dll crash (Event Viewer P7: 80000003)
AION 2 fails to launch and crashes pointing at ntdll.dll. Checking Windows Event Viewer for the crash shows exception parameter P7: 80000003.
AION 2 Camera Stuck or Mouse Not Working: Fix
Moving the mouse no longer turns the camera. The mouse itself still works: ESC or Alt shows a normal cursor, but the camera won't turn, or turns at a very low sensitivity. Usually after opening the Steam overlay, topping up your wallet in the in-game shop or Alt-Tabbing.
AION 2 "Failed to reset Steam account linking" 1138:100134
Launching from Steam fails with "Failed to reset Steam account linking. Please check Steam's status and restart the game.(1138:100134)" and the game doesn't start.
AION 2 "DirectX 12 is not supported on your system"
AION 2 won't launch, or closes immediately on launch, with a message reporting that DirectX 12 isn't supported on your system.
AION 2 0xE0000029 NCGuard error at launch (what to try)
AION2.exe closes during NCGuard initialization, before the NC logo. No game error dialog; the NCGuard log ends with exit:: 0xE0000029, and some players get an NCGuard window asking them to save the code.
AION 2 crash 0xE0000011 (launching via Steam)
AION2.exe closes right after launching through Steam, with no dialog beyond the exit code 0xE0000011. The same install launched through PURPLE or the .exe directly instead throws 0xE0000013 for at least one affected player.
AION 2 GPU crash DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED mid-session
The game crashes after a while in play, with "GPU Crash dump Triggered" and "DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED", or "GameThread timed out waiting for RenderThread after 120.00 secs" (RenderingThread.cpp). Some players crash just by pressing Esc.
Things you cannot
Queues, capacity limits and login failures. These are server-side — every page below links back to live status rather than a fix you can perform yourself.
AION 2 character missing or gone? "No Advanced Access" fix
The client stops at login with "You do not have Advanced Access and cannot enter. Access will be available after the official launch. The client will now close." Some players see a prompt to buy Early Access again instead, or log in to find their character gone, even though they own a Founder's Pack.
AION 2 PURPLE "Account Action - Permanent Closure" ban (fix)
Right after submitting payment for a Founder's Pack through the PURPLE launcher, sometimes before card details even finish processing, the account is instantly banned with an "Account Action - Permanent Closure" notice and a Korean payment-decline reason code (지불거절).
AION 2 silently closes with Exit Status 1 (0x00000001)
You reach the region/server/character selection lobby fine and it stays stable indefinitely. But after picking a character and pressing Start Game, the client disappears instantly — no error message, no crash reporter window — either while the world is loading or within about 30 seconds of entering the map.
AION 2 "account has been restricted" (Operational Policy)
You're kicked mid-session (often while AFK, auto-running, at a world boss or in a dungeon) and on login see that the account "has been restricted in accordance with our Operational Policy", with no reason or duration.
AION 2 "Essence Extraction has been restricted" (anti-bot)
While gathering ore, plants or Odyle, the game repeats "Essence Extraction has been restricted due to repetitive behavior." and you can't gather for a while. Some players first get a CAPTCHA-style box asking them to type a code from an image.
AION 2 error C:213840: unable to connect to game server
You are disconnected mid-session, or kicked when you teleport into a dungeon, with "Unable to connect to game server. Moving to login screen. [C:213840]". Reporters then could not rejoin any server for a while.
AION 2 "UE-AION2 Game has crashed and will close" (fix)
A crash dialog reading "The UE-AION2 Game has crashed and will close" pops up mid-session — reported both during character creation and during normal play — sometimes followed by the screen freezing entirely.
AION 2 "Unable to connect to login server" [C:114592]
You can't get past login: the client shows "Unable to connect to login server" with the code [C:114592], sometimes after frequent disconnects during play.
Can't chat in AION 2? "Please Try Again Later" chat fix
You can type in the chat box normally, but pressing Enter shows "Please try again later" and your message stays in the input box, unsent. This affects every channel at once — Region, Faction, Party, Legion/Clan and Whisper — and you stop receiving messages from other players too.
AION 2 error NP:1706:100104: region block, not your network
After the NC logo, the game stops with a connection error quoting "[NP:1706:1001004]" or "NP:1706:100104" and asks you to check your network connection (Russian client: "Проверьте состояние сетевого подключения").
AION 2 high ping and lag spikes on EU servers
Ping to the EU server swings from a normal ~30ms up to 90ms and back, repeatedly, instead of holding steady — unlike other online games on the same connection, which stay flat.
AION 2 error 40309:500 — Cannot Register Security Settings
While trying to register security settings on a PURPLE/NCSoft account — usually while attaching a phone number — the site or client shows exactly: "A temporary error has occurred. Please try again later. (40309:500)". Retrying, refreshing and waiting do not clear it.
AION 2 DLSS disabled on RTX 5000-series laptops (official)
DLSS simply disappears from the AION 2 graphics menu on an RTX 5000-series laptop — it's not a settings glitch, and there's nothing to re-enable it from your end.
AION 2 Error 1092 — Xsolla payment declined (fix)
Buying the Founder's Pack or an in-game item through Xsolla, NCSoft's payment processor, fails with "Error 1092". Apple Pay may show "Payment via Apple Pay was declined", even when the card works everywhere else.
AION 2 "Unable to Connect to Login Server" error
Trying to log in shows "Unable to Connect to Login Server" (sometimes paired with a "no active connection" state) and the client never gets past it, no matter how many times you retry.
AION 2 tutorial disconnects on Shift/jump (rubber-banding)
During the early tutorial, pressing anything other than the attack button — Shift (sprint) or the jump key in particular — causes rubber-banding, dropped attacks, and then a full disconnect. There is no error code, just the connection dying.
AION 2 "verification code request limit" lockout
Trying to log in or enable login security triggers "You have reached the limit of verification code requests," and you're then locked out of your account — one report describes over 10 hours locked out after what was their first login attempt of the day, and no verification code arriving by SMS for three days straight regardless of how many were requested.
AION 2 stuck on Korean age verification (ID or selfie)
Instead of the server list, a Korean-style age-verification screen appears and asks for an ID or a selfie. Its QR code never loads, so the login can't be completed.
AION 2 NP:1706:100112 "A network error has occurred"
During play, the game shows "A network error has occurred. Retrying. Moving to title screen. [NP:1706:100112]" and sends you back to the title screen.
AION 2 "13/14 generation CPU" popup: buttons do nothing
On launch, a popup says you are using a 13th or 14th generation CPU and the game may crash. It has "learn more" and "continue" buttons, and neither button does anything, so the game can't be started.
AION 2 "every server is restricted": can't create a character
On the server select screen every server shows as restricted or full, you can't create a character, or "Click to Enter" does nothing after the queue.
AION 2 "Your login session has expired" and empty account
Mid-play, "Your login session has expired. Please log in again. The client will now close." appears. After logging back in, one player's account looked brand new: race and server selection and the user agreement again.
AION 2 "insufficient gameplay record" market listing block
You try to list an item such as Odyl on the Market (Auction House) and the game says listing certain items for sale is restricted due to an insufficient gameplay record.
How these are graded
Every fix step carries a label. Confirmed means players demonstrably got back in with it, or the studio said so directly.Reported means it worked for some people and not others. Unconfirmed means it's circulating and there's no evidence either way yet. The distinction is the point — a page that lists five fixes with equal confidence costs you an evening.
