AION 2 error codes and crash fixes
Every error, crash and connection failure we have a fix for, one page per code. Before the fix, each page says whether the problem is your machine or the studio's servers — because if it's theirs, no amount of verifying game files will help, and the only useful answer is whether it's happening right now.
Things you can fix
Crashes, install faults and driver conflicts. Find your symptom, work the steps in order, stop when it launches.
AION 2 crashes right after the NCSoft logo — error 0xE0000012
The game shows the NCSoft logo, starts the planet zoom-in cutscene, then closes itself with no error dialog. Checking the logs afterward shows exit code 0xE0000012.
AION 2 crash 0xE0000027 — software conflicts to check
Aion2.exe closes with error code 0xE0000027, either during launch or after a period of play — one report has it confirmed in a screenshot as "Aion2.exe - 0xE0000027."
AION 2 crashes at launch — try disabling ASUS AURA SYNC
AION 2 closes itself with no error message right at launch, or right after clicking/touching the screen, during the Launch Scale Test playtest.
AION 2 ntdll.dll crash (Event Viewer P7: 80000003)
AION 2 fails to launch and crashes pointing at ntdll.dll. Checking Windows Event Viewer for the crash shows exception parameter P7: 80000003.
Things you cannot
Queues, capacity limits and login failures. These are server-side — every page below links back to live status rather than a fix you can perform yourself.
AION 2 silently closes with Exit Status 1 (0x00000001)
You reach the region/server/character selection lobby fine and it stays stable indefinitely. But after picking a character and pressing Start Game, the client disappears instantly — no error message, no crash reporter window — either while the world is loading or within about 30 seconds of entering the map.
AION 2 Fatal Error crash ("UE-AION2 Game has crashed and will close")
A crash dialog reading "The UE-AION2 Game has crashed and will close" pops up mid-session — reported both during character creation and during normal play — sometimes followed by the screen freezing entirely.
AION 2 chat system unavailable — messages won't send
You can type in the chat box normally, but pressing Enter shows "Please try again later" and your message stays in the input box, unsent. This affects every channel at once — Region, Faction, Party, Legion/Clan and Whisper — and you stop receiving messages from other players too.
AION 2 EU server ping spikes and unstable latency
Ping to the EU server swings from a normal ~30ms up to 90ms and back, repeatedly, instead of holding steady — unlike other online games on the same connection, which stay flat.
AION 2 error 40309:500 — Cannot Register Security Settings
While trying to register security settings on a PURPLE/NCSoft account — usually while attaching a phone number — the site or client shows exactly: "A temporary error has occurred. Please try again later. (40309:500)". Retrying, refreshing and waiting do not clear it.
AION 2 DLSS disabled on RTX 5000-series laptops (official)
DLSS simply disappears from the AION 2 graphics menu on an RTX 5000-series laptop — it's not a settings glitch, and there's nothing to re-enable it from your end.
AION 2 "Unable to Connect to Login Server" — old Taiwan reports
Trying to log in shows "Unable to Connect to Login Server" (sometimes paired with a "no active connection" state) and the client never gets past it, no matter how many times you retry.
AION 2 tutorial disconnects on Shift/jump (rubber-banding)
During the early tutorial, pressing anything other than the attack button — Shift (sprint) or the jump key in particular — causes rubber-banding, dropped attacks, and then a full disconnect. There is no error code, just the connection dying.
How these are graded
Every fix step carries a label. Confirmed means players demonstrably got back in with it, or the studio said so directly.Reported means it worked for some people and not others. Unconfirmed means it's circulating and there's no evidence either way yet. The distinction is the point — a page that lists five fixes with equal confidence costs you an evening.
