AION 2 hasn't launched yet
Early Access opens September 30, 2026, with full release on October 5, 2026. There's no live-service history to check yet, and no reports are possible until real players are in the game. This page will start showing live reports, a 24-hour chart, and an incident history automatically once it does — no rebuild needed.

▲ Is it broken for you? Tap what's failing
One tap. No account, no email. Reports are the only thing that tells the next player whether it's their connection or the servers — including when that player is you tomorrow.
Your report is anonymous. We store the category and the time. We do not store your IP address — it is hashed with a secret and today's date purely to stop one person filing fifty reports, and the hash cannot be reversed or matched to you tomorrow.

Server-side
- EXIT-STATUS-1Reported
AION 2 silently closes with Exit Status 1 (0x00000001)
You reach the region/server/character selection lobby fine and it stays stable indefinitely. But after picking a character and pressing Start Game, the client disappears instantly — no error message, no crash reporter window — either while the world is loading or within about 30 seconds of entering the map.
- FATAL-ERRORReported
AION 2 Fatal Error crash ("UE-AION2 Game has crashed and will close")
A crash dialog reading "The UE-AION2 Game has crashed and will close" pops up mid-session — reported both during character creation and during normal play — sometimes followed by the screen freezing entirely.
- CHAT-UNAVAILABLEReported
AION 2 chat system unavailable — messages won't send
You can type in the chat box normally, but pressing Enter shows "Please try again later" and your message stays in the input box, unsent. This affects every channel at once — Region, Faction, Party, Legion/Clan and Whisper — and you stop receiving messages from other players too.
- EU-HIGH-PINGReported
AION 2 EU server ping spikes and unstable latency
Ping to the EU server swings from a normal ~30ms up to 90ms and back, repeatedly, instead of holding steady — unlike other online games on the same connection, which stay flat.
Maintenance, queues, and real outages
Three different things get reported as "AION 2 is down," and only one of them is an outage. The chart above is the fastest way to tell them apart, once there's data on it:
A real outage
Reports spike hard within an hour, then decay as the problem is fixed. Nobody announced it in advance.
Scheduled maintenance
Reports climb steadily and stay flat for the length of the window, because everyone hits the same wall at the same time and keeps hitting it.
A login queue
Matchmaking/login reports climb while server-connection reports stay low, and a Steam player count (if shown above) holds flat instead of dropping. The servers are up and full, not down — waiting is the only fix.
Announced maintenance would show up at the studio's own status channel or the official Discord before it shows up here.
If it's only broken for you
Most "is it down" moments aren't outages. Work down this list before assuming the servers are the problem — it's ordered by how often each one turns out to be the answer, not by how easy it is.
- 01
Check the report count above first
It costs nothing and it settles the question. A flat report count means other players are getting in fine, and everything below is worth your time. A spike means it isn't you, and none of it is.
- 02
Verify the game files
In Steam: right-click AION 2 → Properties → Installed Files → Verify integrity of game files. A partial patch is the single most common cause of a game that launches and then fails to connect.
- 03
Restart the whole chain, in order
Game, then your launcher/Steam, then your router. People almost always do the first and skip the third — a stale router NAT table produces exactly the symptom people report as "servers down."
- 04
Rule out a VPN or restrictive network
A VPN fails matchmaking far more often than it fixes it, and so does a corporate or campus network that blocks the UDP ports a game server needs. If you're on a network you don't administer, that's the likely answer.
- 05
If it crashes rather than fails to connect, treat it as a crash
A game that starts and then dies, rather than never connecting, is usually a local fault — most often graphics drivers or overlay software, not the servers.
AION 2 server status: common questions
Is AION 2 down right now?
AION 2 isn't playable yet, so there's no service to be down until September 30, 2026. This page starts counting reports the moment the servers come up — no rebuild needed.
Is AION 2 down today, or is it just me?
Compare the two signals on this page. If reports are flat and the Steam player count looks normal, thousands of people are getting in fine and the problem is at your end — work down the checklist below. If reports spike and the player count drops at the same time, it isn't you, and nothing you change locally will fix it. One weak signal can mislead; two that agree rarely do.
Is AION 2 down for maintenance?
NCSoft announces maintenance on the AION 2 notice board, and its wording is explicit that this takes logins down: the September 17, 2026 notice scheduled roughly 24 hours from 12PM PDT and stated that "during the maintenance, the game login will be temporarily unavailable." No recurring weekly maintenance window has been announced for after launch. Planned maintenance looks different from an outage here: reports climb and then stay flat for the length of the window, instead of spiking in one hour and decaying.
NCSoft's AION 2 notice board →Is there an AION 2 login queue?
Yes — AION 2 queues players when a server is full rather than refusing them, and NCSoft has published a two-tier policy: "when a server is at capacity, members in good standing join the priority queue instead of the general queue, and both queues move as space opens. Priority queue access is a privilege, not a guarantee." A queue is not an outage: the servers are up and full, and waiting is the only fix. Restarting the client does not skip it.
Why does AION 2 say "unable to connect to login server"?
Three very different things produce that message, and they have different fixes. During announced maintenance it is expected — NCSoft's own notices say logins go down for the window. On the Korean and Taiwanese client, players outside those regions report being blocked at login by IP. Everything else is local: a stale launcher cache, DNS, a firewall or antivirus, or a VPN. Be careful with the fixes you find for this one — most of the pages ranking for it are published by companies that sell gaming VPNs, and the fix they recommend is their own product.
Why does AION 2 crash right after the NCSoft logo?
This is the most-reported crash from AION 2's playtest Discord — one thread alone ran past 60 replies. The game shows the NCSoft logo, starts the cutscene, then closes with no dialog and exit code 0xE0000012. The code itself is generic: it is NCGuard, the anti-cheat, terminating the process. Two specific software conflicts have been pinned down so far, both on the player's own machine rather than server-side.
The two confirmed causes, and what to try in order →What time does AION 2 Early Access start on September 30?
NCSoft has not announced a clock time. The Founder's Pack head start is confirmed for September 30 through October 4, 2026, ahead of the October 5 global launch, but neither the Early Access notice, the notice board, nor the Steam pre-release FAQ gives an hour or a timezone. Treat September 30 as the confirmed date and nothing more — any specific time circulating right now is a guess.
Which AION 2 server regions are there, and how do I tell if only mine is down?
NCSoft's Steam pre-release FAQ confirms four regions for the global launch: North America, South America, Europe and Japan. The number of individual world servers inside each has not been announced. If you cannot get in, check whether the people reporting problems here and in the official Discord are on your region before assuming a global outage — a single region going down looks identical from inside it.
Are AION 2 and the original AION the same game?
No. The original AION launched in 2008 and is still running today as a separate service; AION 2 is a new game built in Unreal Engine 5, set in the same world roughly 200 years later. Same publisher, same setting, different servers — an outage on one says nothing about the other. NCSoft's own FAQ confirms you don't need to have played the original to start AION 2.
Isn't AION 2 already out? I've seen people playing it
In Korea and Taiwan, yes — AION 2 launched there on November 19, 2025 on PC and mobile, and those players are long past the content the global version is about to start on. This page tracks the global PC service, which is a separate launch on separate servers: Early Access September 30, 2026 and full release October 5. The Korean and Taiwanese servers being fine tells you nothing about the global ones, and vice versa.
Does NCSoft publish an official AION 2 status page?
No — there's no dedicated status or uptime page for AION 2, which is why community trackers exist for this genre at all. The closest official channels are the AION 2 notice board on plaync.com, where maintenance and service notices are actually posted, the Steam news hub for app 3393110, the official Discord at discord.gg/aion2official, and @Aion2Official on X. All of those are announcements rather than live status.
How does this tracker know AION 2 is down?
It doesn't measure NCSoft's servers — nobody outside NCSoft can. It counts distinct players reporting a problem, the way an outage tracker for any service works, and shows the Steam concurrent player count alongside it, which falls sharply during a real outage. Two weak signals that agree are more useful than either on its own. Reports are counted per person, so repeatedly tapping the button does not move the number.
Incident history
Auto-logged from player reports over the last 30 days. An incident is a run of hours with at least six different players reporting in each, the same signal the verdict above responds to — so one frustrated player pressing a button repeatedly can never put an incident on this list.
No incidents logged in the last 30 days.
