AION 2 crash 0xE0000013 at the NC logo — unplug USB devices
The game closes during or right after the NC logo, before the title screen. Sometimes NCGuard shows "Error Code Error 0xE0000013 / 0x13"; often it just closes with no message.

0xE0000013 comes from NCGuard, AION 2's anti-cheat, closing the game during startup. NCSoft hasn't published what the code means. Steam Discussions players found a common trigger, though: a USB peripheral connected during launch, such as an MMO mouse, a gaming keyboard or a USB headset or mic.
About eight players in one thread confirmed the same workaround. They unplugged or turned off the device until the NC logo and music had passed, then plugged it back in, and the game ran normally. Corsair and Razer devices come up most, but they aren't the only ones. This is a conflict on your PC, not NCSoft's servers.
Fix it, step by step
Unplug USB mouse, keyboard and headset until the NC logo passes
Disconnect or switch off USB peripherals — gaming mouse, keyboard, headset, microphone — before launching. Wait until the NC logo and music are over, then plug them back in. About eight players in the Steam thread confirmed this, including owners of a Corsair Scimitar, a Razer Lycosa and a USB-C headset.
Find the device by unplugging one at a time
To avoid doing this every launch, try with only one device unplugged each time to find which one triggers it. Its vendor software (iCUE, Synapse and similar) is a likely factor. Closing ASUS Armoury Crate fixed it for one player, which matches the ASUS conflict on our 0xE0000012 and Aura Sync pages.
Update your GPU driver (one report)
One player fixed the crash by updating their Nvidia driver.
Verify the game files (one report)
In Steam, right-click AION 2 → Properties → Installed Files → Verify integrity of game files. It fixed the crash for one player and did nothing for another.
