Can't chat in AION 2? "Please Try Again Later" chat fix

You can type in the chat box normally, but pressing Enter shows "Please try again later" and your message stays in the input box, unsent. This affects every channel at once — Region, Faction, Party, Legion/Clan and Whisper — and you stop receiving messages from other players too.
Also appears as: please try again later chat, cant send messages in chat, chat not working, unable to send whisper to the target, chat system unavailable, aion 2 cannot chat right now, aion 2 can't chat right now
This is a backend chat-service outage, not a client setting — one reporter confirmed it happened identically on both the Steam client and a freshly downloaded PURPLE (Global) client, ruling out a local install issue, while their separate PURPLE Korea client kept working normally at the same time. That split points at the Global chat service specifically, not chat infrastructure as a whole.
NCSoft lists it as a known issue under investigation and gives a workaround: change characters, move through a loading screen, or log back in.
What to try
- 01Confirmed
Change characters, pass a loading screen, or log back in
NCSoft lists this as a known issue and says it "can be resolved by changing characters, moving through a loading screen, or logging back in." Its Advanced Access Known Issues post (updated 10/4) describes it as: "A "Please Try Again Later" message may occasionally appear when sending a Chat message, preventing both outgoing and incoming messages from being displayed."
