AION 2 "Essence Extraction has been restricted" (anti-bot)

While gathering ore, plants or Odyle, the game repeats "Essence Extraction has been restricted due to repetitive behavior." and you can't gather for a while. Some players first get a CAPTCHA-style box asking them to type a code from an image.
Also appears as: Essence Extraction has been restricted due to repetitive behavior., aion 2 essence extraction restricted, aion 2 gathering restricted, aion 2 blocked from gathering, aion 2 restricted from farming ores, aion 2 captcha, aion 2 unverified daeva
This is AION 2's anti-bot system blocking gathering, not a fault on your PC. Players in at least three Steam Discussions threads (October 10–12) and an r/Aion2 post with over 600 upvotes say it hit them while gathering normally, sometimes right after solving the CAPTCHA.
NCSoft hasn't said what triggers it or how long it lasts. One player links it to cancelling extractions over and over, for example cancelling basic Odyle while flying to look for pure Odyle. It isn't the same as an account restriction, which locks you out of the game entirely.
What to try
- 01Unconfirmed
Stop cancelling extractions over and over (unconfirmed)
One player says repeatedly interrupting an extraction is what disables it, and players on r/Aion2 suggested not spam-cancelling nodes and varying where and how you gather. The original poster there said the restriction came back anyway, so this may only make it less frequent.
- 02Unconfirmed
If a code box appears, press Alt to click into it and type the code
One player says the CAPTCHA box needs Alt to free the mouse cursor before you can select the text field. Answering it correctly is the only way through the check that players describe.

No confirmed fix yet
NCSoft hasn't commented on gathering restrictions, and nobody has said how long one lasts. This page will be updated when that changes. If you are locked out of the game entirely rather than only from gathering, see the account restricted page.
