AION 2 "Your login session has expired" and empty account
Mid-play, "Your login session has expired. Please log in again. The client will now close." appears. After logging back in, one player's account looked brand new: race and server selection and the user agreement again.
Also appears as: Your login session has expired. Please log in again. The client will now close., aion 2 login session expired, aion 2 account reset, aion 2 character data lost, aion 2 account looks new after relog, aion 2 asks to choose race and server again
One player reported on Steam (16 October 2026) that this dialog closed AION 2 and their account then looked brand new, with about 93 hours of progress apparently gone. The cause isn't confirmed. The player had linked an NC account to Steam for the Twitch Drops event, and replies blame Steam to NC account linking, which would put it on NCSoft's side.
Only the original poster has described the dialog and the missing data, so this is unconfirmed. One reply said NCSoft has had trouble with Steam account linking before; none of the 19 comments offered a tested fix.
What to try
- 01Unconfirmed
Don't create new characters on the blank account before asking NC
This is our caution, not advice from NCSoft: nobody has shown what happens to the original data, so avoid building on the empty account until NC support has answered. See the Steam already linked page for the account-linking background and the warnings players reported there.

Contact NC support about the missing account data
Submit a ticket through NC Customer Support. Nothing in the thread shows whether support restored the data.

Steam to NC account linking is the suspected cause (player theory)
The original poster had created an NC account to link to Steam for the Twitch Drops event. Replies named account linking and Twitch Drops as the usual cause, and one said NCSoft can "forget" a link and start a new session. These are player explanations, not an NCSoft statement.
