AION 2 0xE0000029 NCGuard error at launch (what to try)
AION2.exe closes during NCGuard initialization, before the NC logo. No game error dialog; the NCGuard log ends with exit:: 0xE0000029, and some players get an NCGuard window asking them to save the code.
Also appears as: 0xE0000029, exit:: 0xE0000029, exit 0xE0000029, NCGuard 0xE0000029, aion2.exe 0xE0000029, aion 2 error code 0xE0000029, aion 2 game won't run, aion 2 closes during ncguard initialization
0xE0000029 is an NCGuard (anti-cheat) block code. NC's own guide lists it as "Another program caused a conflict with the game's security feature", the same wording as 0xE0000012, so NC puts the cause on your PC, not its servers.
Four players posted the code in Steam Discussions between 30 September and 7 October; none has a fix. One player's draft support ticket says a full clean boot failed too. NC hasn't said what 0xE0000029 means beyond that line.

Close the apps NC lists as conflicting, and end leftover processes
NC's NCGuard guide says this code means another program conflicted with the game's security feature. NC's support guide AION 2 Closes or Crashes Shortly After Launch lists what to close: Citrix and other remote or work apps, remote desktop tools, other launchers and games with anti-cheat, Razer Synapse, ASUS Aura Sync, Corsair iCUE, and monitoring tools such as NZXT CAM and CPU-Z. Then press Ctrl + Shift + Esc and end any leftover processes before launching. That is NC's general advice; no 0xE0000029 poster has said it worked, and two said it hadn't helped (below).

What reporters tried that did not help
Etchan05 wrote "I already check no other background program running" and still got the code (thread). A player drafting a ticket in the launch Support Link thread listed verifying files, reinstalling, running as administrator, a full clean boot, removing other anti-cheats, remote-access tools and game boosters, and turning off Windows virtualization-based security, all with the same 0xE0000029. They run Windows 11 build 26300 (26H2) and suspect NCGuard is incompatible with it; that is one player's suspicion and nobody has tested it.

No confirmed fix yet
No confirmed fix yet; this page will be updated. The other threads with the code (KODA, 30 September: "i received an error code and it ask me to save it. not sure wut it is."; ι‘Ύθ¨., 5 October, who posted a log ending in exit:: 0xE0000029, with one reply "Got the same") got no fix.

Open a ticket with NC Customer Service and attach your NCGuard log
NC says to contact Customer Service and provide your game logs if the problem continues. Open a ticket at help.plaync.com and attach the NCGuard log (press Save in the NCGuard window, or select the text box with Ctrl + A and paste it), the error name, a screenshot and a list of the apps that were running, as NC's guide asks. Cut everything after
-lp:from the log first; a player in the 0xE0000012 thread warned it may contain session data (not confirmed by NC). Players report slow replies to tickets; see the 0xE0000012 page.
