After the NC logo, the game stops with a connection error quoting "[NP:1706:1001004]" or "NP:1706:100104" and asks you to check your network connection (Russian client: "Проверьте состояние сетевого подключения").
Also appears as: NP:1706:100104, NP:1706:1001004, 1706 100104, aion 2 check network connection, Проверьте состояние сетевого подключения
Almost everyone reporting this code on Steam Discussions plays from Russia, with a few French-speaking players. Your network is probably fine. NCSoft's support FAQ lists the countries where AION 2 is restricted ("we cannot accept payments or allow play"): the Russian Federation, Belarus, Belgium and the Netherlands among them. A connection refused right after login from one of those countries is most likely that restriction.
NCSoft hasn't published a definition for the code. Outside the restricted countries, two players fixed it locally by disabling IPv6. One also reset the WinHTTP proxy.
What to try
- 01Confirmed
Check whether your country is on NCSoft's restricted list
NCSoft's FAQ lists China, Vietnam, Cuba, Syria, Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan, Macau, the Russian Federation, Belarus, Belgium, the Netherlands, Curaçao, Bonaire, Sint Maarten, Aruba, Serbia and Slovakia as countries where it cannot "allow play". If you're in one of them, no local fix applies.
- 02Unconfirmed
Disable IPv6 on your network adapter (two reports)
Open Control Panel → Network and Sharing Center → Change adapter settings, right-click your connection → Properties, untick Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6), and relaunch. Two players reported this fixed the error.
- 03Unconfirmed
Reset the WinHTTP proxy (one report)
In an administrator Command Prompt run: netsh winhttp reset proxy. Then restart the PC. One player combined this with disabling IPv6.
- 04Reported
Ping boosters didn't fix it for reporters
LagoFast, LagZapper and ExitLag didn't help one reporter. Players who got in from restricted countries did so by routing around NCSoft's region check, which breaks its terms of service and puts the account at risk.
