AION 2 "13/14 generation CPU" popup: buttons do nothing

On launch, a popup says you are using a 13th or 14th generation CPU and the game may crash. It has "learn more" and "continue" buttons, and neither button does anything, so the game can't be started.
Also appears as: you are using a 13/14 generation cpu, the game may crash 13th 14th gen, aion 2 13th gen cpu popup, aion 2 14th gen cpu warning, aion 2 learn more continue button not working, aion 2 won't start 13th gen, aion 2 intel 13th 14th gen crash
The popup is AION 2's own warning about 13th and 14th generation Intel CPUs. The buttons not responding looks like a bug in the game, not something on your PC. NCSoft hasn't commented on it that we found.
In one Steam Discussions thread (31 replies, since September 30), the poster on a laptop i5-13450HX and two desktop players with a BIOS update already installed report the popup with dead buttons. Desktop players on an i7-13700KF and an i9-14900KS say the game runs fine for them. One player says it started working the next day with no changes on their end.
Nobody in the thread says a BIOS update removed the popup, and it isn't confirmed for laptops at all.

Update your motherboard BIOS (unconfirmed)
Several players in the thread say to update the BIOS, and desktop players on an i7-13700KF and an i9-14900KS say the game runs for them with it. But nobody says it made the popup go away, and two players (An0maly33, dustrho) still got the popup with the BIOS already updated.

Try again later (one report)
One player (dustrho) with the popup says the game started working the next day, with no changes on their end. That is a single report and doesn't say what changed.

BIOS update is unconfirmed for laptops
The original poster (a Lenovo LOQ laptop with an i5-13450HX) says a BIOS update didn't help. One reply says the BIOS update is for desktop CPUs, not laptops, but that is one player's statement and we haven't checked it. We haven't confirmed any fix for laptops.

NCSoft hasn't said anything about the popup, and nobody in the thread reports making it go away. Reinstalling the game or drivers was suggested by one reply, with no result reported. Check the live status page for any other problem.
