AION 2 error C:213840: unable to connect to game server
You are disconnected mid-session, or kicked when you teleport into a dungeon, with "Unable to connect to game server. Moving to login screen. [C:213840]". Reporters then could not rejoin any server for a while.

C:213840 is the code on NCSoft's "Unable to connect to game server" dialog. Players on EU, NA West and other servers reported it the same day (October 3 and October 4, 2026) in a Steam Discussions thread and a Reddit thread. Several of them could log in and walk around fine, then got thrown to the login screen the moment they tried to enter a dungeon, and one said dungeons run on a separate server that wasn't working. Because it hit many players on different servers within minutes of each other, it looks like a server-side problem, though nobody from NCSoft has said so and no cause has been published.
One Reddit reply claimed a fix using Cloudflare but gave no details and nobody confirmed it, so it is not listed as a step. No confirmed fix yet.
What to try
- 01Reported
Check whether other players are hitting it right now
Compare the report count on the [AION 2 status page](/aion-2/) with the Steam player count. If other players are reporting it at the same time, it is not your machine or connection.
- 02Reported
Note whether only dungeon entry fails (reported)
Several Reddit reporters could connect and play normally, and were only disconnected when teleporting into a dungeon. If that matches you, waiting rather than retrying repeatedly is all the thread offers; one player said leaving the dungeon sent them back to the login screen.
- 03Unconfirmed
No confirmed fix yet
No NCSoft notice or reply names a cause or a fix for C:213840, and no player in either thread confirmed a fix that worked. This page will be updated when one appears. NCSoft posts maintenance and known issues on the [AION 2 notice board](https://aion2.plaync.com/en-us/board/notice/list).
