Aniimo black screen or crash on launch (official fix)

Aniimo shows a black screen instead of loading, or crashes right after launching, before you ever reach the login or character screen.

Pawprint Studio's own pinned Steam Discussions FAQ lists this as a known launch-week issue and gives the same three-step fix directly, which is what makes this a local, fixable problem rather than a server one — it's about your PC's graphics setup, not Pawprint's backend. Work through the steps below in order; Pawprint's post doesn't say one is more likely to work than another, so try all three before assuming it's unresolved.
What to try
