RuneScape: Dragonwilds PS5 crash joining a crossplay world

On PlayStation 5, the game crashes when you accept an invite to a crossplay world, or when you create a crossplay world with a password.

Both crashes are acknowledged Jagex bugs, so nothing on your console is broken. Jagex's Known Issues post of September 16, 2026 says "PlayStation users are encountering a crash when attempting to join some crossplay worlds via invite." Its 1.0.0.5 patch notes then list a fix for the other trigger: "Resolving a bug where PS5 users could trigger a crash when creating a crossplay world with a password in certain instances." So the password-creation crash should be gone on 1.0.0.5, which went live on PS5 on September 25, 2026. Jagex didn't list the join-by-invite crash as fixed in those notes, and hasn't published a workaround, so it may still happen. If crossplay itself is unavailable rather than crashing, that's a separate issue tied to platform patch approval.
