RuneScape: Dragonwilds World Save Corrupted or Missing After 1.0

A RuneScape: Dragonwilds world save is corrupted when you exit a session, or a world you had disappears from your world list entirely — either turning invisible or seeming to vanish outright.
This is two related but distinct problems, both traced to the game's 1.0 release on September 18, 2026, and both acknowledged directly by Jagex in their own 1.0.0.4 patch notes rather than something inferred from player reports alone. The first — a world save becoming corrupted when exiting a game session — is fixed. Jagex's patch notes state plainly: "We have applied a fix affecting World Saves becoming corrupted when exiting a game session." If you're still seeing a save corrupt on exit after updating to 1.0.0.4 or later, that's new information worth reporting here, not the same issue recurring. The second is still open. In the same patch notes, Jagex says: "We're still investigating an additional issue reported where some users have found that worlds in their world list have gone missing/turned invisible. We're in active conversation with the platform teams from each console to better understand the situation, with the aim of helping players recover these worlds and have them reappear in a future patch." There is no player-side fix for this yet — it's a Jagex-and-console-platform-teams problem, not a local one, and Pure Xbox's independent coverage frames it specifically as a console-side issue Jagex is working "flat-out" to resolve, consistent with Jagex naming console platform teams rather than PC as the ones they're coordinating recovery with. One side effect of the same patch worth knowing about even if neither bug above has hit you: deploying 1.0.0.4 means Nintendo Switch 2 and Jagex Launcher systems temporarily lose crossplay until each platform processes and approves the patch on their end — not a new bug, just a rollout gap Jagex said they'd update on once cleared. This is a different problem from a dedicated server you host not appearing in the Public tab search — see [that page](/runescape-dragonwilds/errors/server-not-showing-up/) if that's what you're hitting instead. This page is about your own world (or a world you play in) disappearing or corrupting, not a hosting/discovery issue.
What to try
- 01Update to patch 1.0.0.4 or later. Jagex states this fixes world saves becoming corrupted specifically when exiting a game session — the single most common version of this problem.Confirmed
- 02If a world has vanished or turned invisible from your world list rather than just failing to load, this is the still-open issue Jagex is investigating with each console platform's team. There's no fix to apply on your end yet — Jagex says the aim is to help affected worlds reappear in a future patch, which will need further testing first.Confirmed
- 03Don't uninstall, delete local save data, or start a new world to "fix" a missing one — Jagex's stated plan is recovering the existing worlds, and nothing points to a local workaround actually restoring one.Reported
- 04If crossplay stopped working for you on Nintendo Switch 2 or the Jagex Launcher right after this patch, that's expected and temporary — those platforms have to individually process and approve 1.0.0.4 before crossplay resumes. It isn't the same bug as the missing-worlds issue.Confirmed
