Escape from Tarkov crash on exit: Windows restarts (BattlEye)

Closing Escape from Tarkov (or a failed raid load) is followed within seconds by a black Windows screen with a fatal-error message and an automatic restart. Some players only see the game itself crash.

Also appears as: tarkov crash on exit, tarkov bsod on close, closing tarkov crashes windows, tarkov BEDaisy.sys, tarkov blue screen battleye, tarkov pc restarts when i quit

Several Steam players report that quitting Tarkov was followed by a Windows crash and restart, in two threads from September 30 to October 6. One poster's minidump errors named BattlEye, and two friends on AMD systems reportedly saw a "BEDaisy.sys" error.

On October 5 a developer in the thread wrote that "the issue with BattlEye causing crashes was resolved yesterday" and asked players to open a ticket if it continues. A later poster said BattlEye still blue-screened their PC.

One poster suggested an Intel 13th/14th-gen instability bug. That is a player theory, and the same thread notes AMD owners with the same crash.

What to try

  1. 01

Check the Windows minidump or Event Viewer for BEDaisy.sys (one report)

One player said their crash dumps in C:\Windows\Minidump pointed at BattlEye, and others in the thread suggested checking Event Viewer for what caused the critical error. If it names BEDaisy.sys, include that when you contact support.

  2. 02

Reinstall BattlEye (it only helped temporarily for one player)

A poster relayed that reinstalling BattlEye stopped the crashes temporarily, and that they came back. The same poster described uninstalling BattlEye, adding Tarkov and BattlEye to Windows Defender exclusions, then reinstalling it, with no confirmation it lasts.

A poster suggested updating the BIOS on 13th/14th-gen Intel (player claim)

One poster argued the crash could be Intel 13th/14th-gen CPU instability and advised updating the BIOS. This is a player claim, not confirmed for Tarkov, and AMD owners in the same thread reported the same crash.

  4. 04

Open a support ticket if it continues

A developer replied in the thread: "If something of the sort continues - please create a ticket."
