Escape from Tarkov error 0: "no game with name eft" (fix)

The BSG Launcher or game refuses to start and shows a bare "Error: 0" dialog, often paired with the text 'There is no game with name "eft" Parameter name: game'.

This is Battlestate Games' own generic connection-failure error, and Steam Discussions threads on it are dominated by reports clustered right after major launches and high-traffic moments — most visibly the November 15, 2025 Steam 1.0 release, when a 294-reply thread on this exact message was answered directly by a Battlestate community rep with an official status statement (quoted below). That doesn't mean every "Error: 0" is server load — a stale or partially-updated install can throw the same generic message — but if you're seeing it during or right after a wipe, patch, or launch event, check Battlestate's channels before troubleshooting your own install.
