Dune: Awakening "Network Error MX3" (maintenance kick)
A "Network Error MX3" message drops you out of Dune: Awakening because the server is going down for a patch or planned maintenance, with no warning on screen.
Also appears as: dune awakening network error mx3, network error mx3, mx3, error code mx3, dune awakening server going down for patch or planned maintenance, dune awakening disconnected no warning maintenance
MX3 ("Network Error MX3") is reported as the disconnect you get when the server goes down for a patch or planned maintenance. That makes it Funcom's side, not something on your PC.
The evidence is one Reddit thread: the poster saw it with "absolutely 0 warning". A reply said servers usually give a 30-minute warning. Funcom has not commented, so the cause is reported, not confirmed. Check the live status page first.
No problems reported in the last 15 minutes.
Is Dune: Awakening down right now? Live reports →What to try
- 01Reported
Wait for maintenance to end and check the live status page
Wait for the patch or maintenance to finish and check the live status page for whether reports have dropped. Funcom posts restarts and maintenance on its @DuneAwakening X account and the Steam news hub for app 1172710; there is no dedicated status dashboard.
- 02Unconfirmed
Relaunch Dune: Awakening once servers are back
Once the servers are back, close the game fully and launch it again to reconnect. The poster in the one thread we found said afterwards that "Everything ended up being ok."
- 03Unconfirmed
Abrupt maintenance disconnects reportedly keep your belongings (one reply)
One reply in the thread says abrupt disconnects during maintenance generally preserve your belongings, and the original poster said "Everything ended up being ok." That is two players in one thread, not a Funcom statement.
