Dune: Awakening official X (@DuneAwakening) hotfix announcement ↗

You can travel into Arrakeen or Harko Village but can't travel back out, hitting a "P83" error every time you try to return to Hagga Basin.

Also appears as: dune awakening error p83, error code p83, p83 error station, cant travel back from arrakeen, stuck in arrakeen dune awakening, stuck in harko village

P83 was a confirmed, server-side travel bug: Funcom's own @DuneAwakening account announced a hotfix specifically to fix "the issue where you can't travel back from Arrakeen and Harko Village, getting the P83 error," alongside a separate fix for Deep Desert server disconnections, with about 90 minutes of expected downtime. That specific instance is fixed. If you hit P83 now, it's most likely the same class of travel-desync bug recurring rather than something new — the workaround below is what got stuck players unstuck before Funcom's hotfix landed.

What to try

  1. 01

Check the Steam news hub for a similar hotfix announcement

Funcom fixed the original wave of this in a same-day hotfix that specifically addressed "you can't travel back from Arrakeen and Harko Village, getting the P83 error." Check the Steam news hub for a similar current announcement first.

Bank your items, start to respawn, then close with Alt+F4

If you're stuck now: empty your inventory into the bank, use the respawn option from the menu, then when the death timer starts do NOT respawn — close the game with Alt+F4 instead.

Verify game files, relaunch, then respawn in Hagga Basin

Verify game file integrity through Steam, relaunch, and load back into your server. When prompted to respawn, choose a point in Hagga Basin (e.g. your home base) — your banked items stay safe for retrieval.
