Buying in Arknights: Endfield from the Epic Games version fails with "Error code: 4004", before the game lets you reach a payment method.

Error 4004 was reported on the Epic Games version, when opening the purchase screen. Gryphline hasn't commented, so the cause is unofficial, but the reported fix points at a program running on your PC.

In one r/ArknightsEndfield thread (August 7, 2026), a reply said to close every program that adds an overlay and switch the game to windowed mode. Two players replied that it worked. That is one thread, so it's reported, not confirmed.

Fix it, step by step

    One reply suggests deleting Epic's webcache folder, running the Epic launcher as administrator, and launching the game with DirectX 11. The original poster said they would try it; nobody confirmed it.

  4. Note

    Gryphline's Help Center has a general top-up FAQ for payments that didn't go through (network, another device, card details, security software blocking the request). It doesn't mention 4004 or the Epic version, so it may not apply. See FAQ 295.
