Gray Zone Warfare stuck on loading screen with no error (fix)

The game sits on the loading screen indefinitely with no error message, and never reaches the main menu.
Also appears as: gray zone warfare stuck on loading screen, gray zone warfare infinite loading screen, gray zone warfare won't load, grey zone warfare stuck on loading screen, gray zone warfare stuck loading no error
MADFINGER's help centre says this is third-party antivirus blocking Easy Anti-Cheat at launch, mostly Avast and Norton. The game waits for the anti-cheat and never gets past loading.
The fix is the same as for "Game Security Violation Detected": antivirus exceptions, plus turning off Behavioral Protection on Norton.
Fix it, step by step
Add the game and Easy Anti-Cheat as antivirus exceptions
In your antivirus, add exceptions for
GZW\Binaries\Win64\GZWClientSteam-Win64-ShippingandGZWClientEAC(both in the Gray Zone Warfare install folder) and forC:\Program Files (x86)\EasyAntiCheat_EOS\EasyAntiCheat_EOS.exe. MADFINGER says this should resolve it for Avast. On Norton 360, exclude the game folder and turn off Behavioral Protection
In Norton 360, go to Security > Advanced > Antivirus > Exclusions and add the Gray Zone Warfare install folder with
\*at the end. If it still hangs, disable Security > Advanced > Behavioral Protection, per MADFINGER's help centre.- NoteReported
If you reach the menu but hang while loading into a server, a server in maintenance mode once caused an infinite loading screen (fixed in Patch 0.2.2.0). Check @GrayZoneWarfare on X and this site's status page for maintenance.
Sorted. Glad that worked.
