Dune: Awakening error P64: Kicked by Anti-cheat (fix)

Dune: Awakening disconnects you with error "P64" ("Kicked by Anti-cheat").

Also appears as: dune awakening error P64, P64, Kicked by Anti-cheat, dune awakening kicked by anti-cheat, dune awakening anti-cheat kick, dune awakening overlay kicked

P64 is Funcom's "Kicked by Anti-cheat" connection error. Funcom's pinned Steam thread on connection error codes says it means "The game detected something irregular that triggered an anti-cheat response." That points at software on your PC, not a server outage.

Funcom's advice is to close non-essential programs, verify your game files through Steam, and make sure no overlay or injection software is running. It also asks you to send your session log if you get it. Funcom does not say which program tripped it.

Fix it, step by step

  1. Close non-essential programs running alongside the game

Close any non-essential programs running alongside the game. This is Funcom's own advice for P64.

  2. Verify the integrity of your game files through Steam

In Steam, right-click Dune: Awakening, open Properties, then Installed Files, and choose Verify integrity of game files. Funcom lists this for P64.

  3. Remove overlay or injection software

Make sure your system is free of overlay or injection software that might interfere with the game. Funcom does not name specific programs.

  4. Note

If you keep getting P64, send Funcom your session log for review. It is in C:\Users\[YourUsername]\AppData\Local\DuneSandbox\Saved\Logs. Funcom asks for this through its Helpshift support page.
