Dune: Awakening error FG3: BattlEye controller kick (fix)

You get kicked to an "FG3" error, often clustered with other connection codes (P34, H74, V94) in the same session.

Also appears as: dune awakening error fg3, error code fg3, fg3 battleye kick, dune awakening fg3 query timeout, dune awakening controller error fg3

The Dune: Awakening community wiki documents FG3 as a kick from BattlEye (the game's anti-cheat) specifically over a query timeout, and ties it to BattlEye flagging driver issues from certain connected peripherals — Xbox controllers being the most commonly named trigger. That makes it a local-machine fix in most reports, distinct from the plain connection-drop codes it often gets lumped in with in generic "fix all these errors" round-ups.

Fix it, step by step

  1. Disable "Xbox Extended Feature Support" in Steam Controller settings

In Steam, go to Settings > Controller and disable "Xbox Extended Feature Support," then restart Steam and the game.

  2. Reinstall your controller driver or unplug non-essential USB devices

If that doesn't help, uninstall and reinstall your controller's driver, or unplug non-essential USB peripherals before launching.

  3. Verify game files and reinstall BattlEye

Still failing: verify game file integrity through Steam and reinstall BattlEye (find Uninstall_BattlEye in the game's install folder, run it, then relaunch to trigger a fresh BattlEye install).
