Dune: Awakening error MM3 on Continue (fix)

Pressing Continue with a multiplayer character shows an "MM3" error instead of loading you into the server.
Also appears as: dune awakening error mm3, mm3, error code mm3, dune awakening continue button error, dune awakening cannot continue multiplayer character, dune awakening switch server mm3
MM3 on the Continue button is a Funcom-side bug. The 1.5.3.5 hotfix notes (2026-09-30) say: "Fixed several edge cases where players received the MM3 error when trying to play with a multiplayer character by pressing the Continue button."
"Several edge cases" means Funcom fixed some triggers, not necessarily all of them, and the notes don't list which. One Steam Discussions player reported getting MM3 after deleting their local DuneSandbox folder, and said choosing Switch Server instead of Continue got them in.
No problems reported in the last 15 minutes.

Update Dune: Awakening to hotfix 1.5.3.5 or later
Update to hotfix 1.5.3.5 or later and press Continue again. Funcom's 1.5.3.5 notes list "several edge cases" of MM3 as fixed. Restart your Steam client if the download does not appear on its own.

Pick Switch Server and select the same server instead of Continue
If Continue still throws MM3, click Switch Server and select the same server again instead. One player on Steam Discussions got MM3 after clearing their local
DuneSandboxfolder and said this logged them in. It is a single report in a thread, not a Funcom answer. Don't delete that folder to try it: a later reply in the same thread says deleting it made their single-player character disappear. - 03Unconfirmed
MM3 after 1.5.3.5: no confirmed fix yet
Funcom says only that several edge cases were fixed, so some triggers may remain. We found no confirmed fix beyond updating. Funcom points players to its Discord and the pinned Steam Known Issues thread for open problems.
