After pressing "touch to start," the game shows a couple of loading bars and then freezes on the same screen indefinitely — several players reported waiting 5+ minutes with no change.

This is a demo-era launch bug reported independently by well over a dozen players in a single Steam Discussions thread for the World of Slime PC demo, several confirming it happened to them too ("same here," "+1," "j'ai restarte plusieurs fois ca fonctionne"). No official TEAM42 post acknowledges this specific freeze, so it isn't a confirmed root cause, but the pattern in the thread is consistent: it's a client-side hang on first launch rather than a server outage, and it isn't universal — it didn't happen to everyone, and the fixes that worked for some players didn't work for all of them. If reinstalling or relaunching a few times gets you past it, that matches what several other players in the same thread reported.
