RuneScape: Dragonwilds Xbox can't join a world with 2+ players
On Xbox, joining a multiplayer world fails once other players are already in it. The first friend gets in, a second still can, but you can't connect when two players are already there.

This was a bug on Jagex's side, not a fault with your Xbox or network. Jagex's 1.0.0.5 patch notes list the fix as "Users no longer fail to connect to Multiplayer servers with more than 2 players present" and add that it "specifically resolves multiplayer clients on XBOX being unable to connect if 2 users are already in the world." Patch 1.0.0.5 went live on Xbox, PS5, Epic Games Store and Steam on September 25, 2026, per Jagex's own announcement, with the Switch 2 build following about an hour later. If you're on Xbox and on that build or newer, this specific failure should be gone. If you can't go online at all — not just into busy worlds — check the Xbox privacy setting instead.
