Dune: Awakening error 3C4: new-player server limit
A friend trying to join your established server gets kicked with a "3C4" error and a message about reaching a limit on new player activity.
Also appears as: dune awakening error 3c4, error code 3c4, 3c4 new player limit, dune awakening cant join friends server, reached a limit of new player activity
Players report 3C4 firing specifically when a new character tries to join a server that's already been running a while — one Steam Discussions thread describes it explicitly as the game "reached a limit of new player activity," blocking a friend from joining an established server to play together. That's a server-side population/onboarding gate, not anything wrong with the joining player's setup, though the reports on exactly when it triggers and whether it's permanent for that server are thin — treat this as an open question rather than a settled mechanic.
No problems reported in the last 15 minutes.

- 01Unconfirmed
No confirmed player-side fix exists
There's no confirmed player-side fix — this reads as a server population gate rather than a client problem, so reinstalling or changing local settings hasn't been reported to help.
- 02Reported
Join a newer, less-populated server together from the start
If you need to play with a specific friend, joining a newer or less-populated server together from the start avoids the issue entirely, per the affected players' own reports.
