Arena Breakout: Infinite Steam Discussions — "SOME SOFTWARE OR HARDWARE THAT IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH THE GAME ERROR" ↗

A dialog reading that "some software or hardware that is not compatible with the game" was detected appears with the code "13-196765-2," coming and going seemingly at random rather than on every launch.

Also appears as: error 13-196765-2, some software or hardware that is not compatible with the game, error code 13-196765-2

This is reported once, in a single Steam Discussions post, by a player whose game "keeps giving me a error code 13-196765-2 telling me my hardware or software isn't compatible with the game," with no reply from Morefun or another player confirming the cause. The wording matches how anti-cheat systems typically flag a conflicting driver, overlay or monitoring tool rather than a hardware fault outright, but that's an inference from the message text, not a confirmed explanation — treat this one as genuinely open until more reports or an official response corroborate it.

Fix it, step by step

  1. Close background overlays and monitoring tools before launching

Close background overlays and monitoring tools (RGB software, FPS counters, recording/streaming overlays) before launching, since these are the most common trigger for anti-cheat compatibility warnings in other games using similar systems — unconfirmed for this specific code.

  2. Update GPU and chipset drivers, then retry

Update GPU and chipset drivers to their current versions, then retry.

  3. Note

If it keeps recurring, report it in Steam Discussions with your exact background software list — there's no corroborated report to compare against yet, so more detail is what would turn this into an actual fix.

    Unconfirmed
