Arena Breakout: Infinite Steam Discussions — "Failed to install ACE service (1-1701-1008)" ↗

Launching the game shows "Failed to install ACE service" with the code "1-1701-1008," usually right after a Steam update, and the game won't start at all.

Also appears as: failed to install ace service, error 1-1701-1008, ace service 1-1701-1008

Reported on Arena Breakout: Infinite's Steam Discussions forum after a Steam update, with several other players confirming the same error in the same thread ("tож same, херня какая-то" — "same, some nonsense"). One affected player posted a follow-up confirming a full clean reinstall — of both the standalone launcher and the Steam copy — got them logging in again. Other players in the thread who only ran Steam's file-verification said that step alone did not fix it, so the reinstall specifically, not verification, is what's actually confirmed to have worked.

What to try

  1. 01

Uninstall completely, delete leftover folders and reinstall

Uninstall the game (and the standalone launcher, if you have it installed separately) completely, delete the leftover game and AntiCheatExpert folders, then do a fresh install — a player in the sourced thread confirmed this specifically fixed it after Steam's verify-files option alone did not.

  2. 02

Don't rely on Steam's file verification alone (multiple reports)

Don't expect Steam's "Verify integrity of game files" alone to fix this one — multiple players in the same thread report it made no difference.

  3. 03

Wait for Morefun's next patch if it recurs (one report)

If it recurs after a reinstall, wait for Morefun's next patch — one player noted the alternative was "wait for a patch to fix it," since no other workaround was found.

    Unconfirmed
