DayZ character can't move after login (Nasdara, 1.30)

You join a DayZ server and can see the world, but your character stands still and ignores the keyboard. Players reported it on Nasdara and Sakhal after the October 15, 2026 update.
Also appears as: dayz character not moving after login, dayz can't move after spawn, character standing still after login, dayz nasdara can't move, dayz frozen after joining server
This looks like an input-focus problem on your PC rather than a server fault. Three players in one Steam thread said switching out of the game and back restored control. No Bohemia Interactive reply or fix has been posted that we found.
One of them said they saw the same on the experimental branch before the update, so it may not be new to Badlands.
Fix it, step by step
Switch out of the game and back (alt-tab or window out and in)
In the Steam thread "Character standing still after login", one player on Nasdara said they "just windowed out and back in and it worked", and another said flipping to Windows and back worked too.
Press the Windows key, then return to the game
A third player in the same thread said they had the same on the experimental version before the update and that pressing the Windows key fixed it.
Open Ctrl+Alt+Del and cancel it (one report)
The original poster said they could move again after pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del and cancelling, and that their drivers were up to date. No other player tried this.
