Mid-raid, or while loading into a raid, the game drops connection and shows "AREX0001" instead of reconnecting — sometimes a "Reconnect Available" prompt appears but tapping it throws the same error, leaving you stuck outside the raid with your gear still inside it.

Also appears as: arex0001, arc raiders error arex0001, arex0001 connection lost, Connection to game server lost, arc raiders disconnected from raid, arc raiders lost connection to game server, arc raiders reconnect available not working, arc raiders can't load any maps

AREX0001 ("Connection to game server lost") is a failed or dropped connection to the raid server. Many Steam Discussions reports describe it mid-raid, often right after a patch, and it can cost the gear you were carrying. Others, on October 13 just after update 2.1.0, hit it at load-in or matchmaking, with every map failing.

Embark doesn't name AREX0001 in its Help Center (connection and matchmaking articles) or in the 2.0.2 and 2.1.0 notes. Two independent players, on Steam and on r/ArcRaiders, fixed it by stopping AdGuard from filtering ARC Raiders, so some cases are local.

    Check the Steam news hub and X for an active known issue

    Check the ARC Raiders Steam news hub and the @ARCRaidersGame account on X for an active known issue or hotfix before anything else — several AREX0001 spikes reported on Steam Discussions line up with recent patches, not local problems.

    Try Reconnect Available immediately when it appears

    If a "Reconnect Available" prompt appears, try it immediately — some players report it works within the first few seconds and fails once the window closes.

    Exclude ARC Raiders / PioneerGame from AdGuard's filtering

    If you use AdGuard (or a similar filtering app), exclude ARC Raiders (PioneerGame) from its filtering or application management. Two independent reports: in a Steam thread (October 13) a commenter said "go in setings search arc and stop tracking it" and the poster replied "Thank fixed it"; in an r/ArcRaiders thread an AdGuard update had enabled application management and routed ARC Raiders traffic through AdGuard, and the poster wrote "The issue has been resolved!" after turning it off. Embark has not confirmed this.

    Run Embark's basic connection checks (not confirmed for AREX0001)

    Embark's connection troubleshooting article lists generic steps: sync your PC clock, set Server region to Automatic, use a wired connection, and flush DNS (ipconfig /flushdns in a command prompt). Embark does not tie them to AREX0001.

    Check for a cluster of reports before requeueing with gear

    If reconnecting fails and you're kicked to Speranza, don't requeue with valuable gear until you've checked whether other players are reporting the same error at the same time — a cluster of reports means it's Embark's servers, not your connection.
