Halloween: The Game anti-cheat error 2: won't start
Pressing Play in Steam briefly shows the loading popup, then "error 2", which the player says is the anti-cheat. Others say offline bot matches say the anti-cheat can't be loaded.

Players report the game failing to start with "error 2", which one says is the anti-cheat, and a second says offline bot multiplayer won't load it. It appears to be on the player's PC, but the cause isn't known.
In an October 11 Steam thread the poster had already added firewall exceptions, verified the files and turned the firewall off, with no change. Another player had two crashes they link to EAC. IllFonic hasn't replied there.

Firewall exceptions and a file check did not help one player
The poster of the October 11 Steam thread says they added all Halloween processes to their Comodo Firewall exceptions, including the scan exceptions, verified the game files, and even shut the firewall down, and still got error 2. Nobody reported the opposite result.
