Expedition: Into Darkness lobby stuck at 0/5, can't start (fix)

The party lobby shows "0/5" even though you're in it, and pressing start after picking a map does nothing — including when trying to play solo offline. Only a full game restart clears it, and it can recur.

Two separate Steam Discussions threads describe the same symptom: one player specifically tried solo, offline play and got stuck at "0/5" with the start button unresponsive; another described intermittently getting "kicked out of the lobby I'm hosting," also landing at 0/5, needing a restart before they could host or join again. Neither Antediluvian Interactive nor a patch note has addressed this directly. It reads as a lobby/session-service hiccup rather than something local to one player's machine, since it has hit a player trying to play entirely offline as well as a player hosting for others — but with no developer statement and only two independent reports so far, that's not settled.
