In PvE co-op, joining a raid as a party member kicks you out of matchmaking or crashes the game, sometimes with "invalid matchmaking operation".
Also appears as: invalid matchmaking operation, tarkov pve co-op invalid matchmaking operation, tarkov pve party member crash, tarkov pve coop crash joining raid
Steam Discussions posters say that in PvE co-op the party leader gets into the raid, but other party members crash or are kicked from matchmaking and have to rejoin. One post reads "invalid matchmaking operation".
The longest thread (37 comments, started 27 March 2026) was still getting "issue is still relevant" replies on 7 October. No Battlestate reply appears in these threads, and no fix is confirmed.

Things reporters tried that did not fix it
One poster raised the Nvidia shader cache size limit, which they said helped some stuttering but not the crashes when joining a raid. Another listed verifying game files, clearing DNS and cache, using the same server selection and swapping the party leader, and said the error still happened every raid. A forum regular asked posters to include their system specs and the exact error message when they report it.
