Beautiful Light hasn't launched yet

No confirmed launch date yet. There's no live-service history to check, and no reports are possible until real players are in the game. This page will start showing live reports, a 24-hour chart, and an incident history automatically once it does — no rebuild needed.

Is it broken for you? Tap what's failing

One tap. No account, no email. Reports are the only thing that tells the next player whether it's their connection or the servers — including when that player is you tomorrow.

Your report is anonymous. We store the category and the time. We do not store your IP address — it is hashed with a secret and today's date purely to stop one person filing fifty reports, and the hash cannot be reversed or matched to you tomorrow.

Maintenance, queues, and real outages

Three different things get reported as "Beautiful Light is down," and only one of them is an outage. The chart above is the fastest way to tell them apart, once there's data on it:

A real outage

Reports spike hard within an hour, then decay as the problem is fixed. Nobody announced it in advance.

Scheduled maintenance

Reports climb steadily and stay flat for the length of the window, because everyone hits the same wall at the same time and keeps hitting it.

A login queue

Matchmaking/login reports climb while server-connection reports stay low, and a Steam player count (if shown above) holds flat instead of dropping. The servers are up and full, not down — waiting is the only fix.

No dedicated status page has been published for Beautiful Light — the closest official channel is the official Discord. This tracker exists precisely because that gap is normal for this kind of game, not an exception.

If it's only broken for you

Most "is it down" moments aren't outages. Work down this list before assuming the servers are the problem — it's ordered by how often each one turns out to be the answer, not by how easy it is.

  1. 01

Check the report count above first

It costs nothing and it settles the question. A flat report count means other players are getting in fine, and everything below is worth your time. A spike means it isn't you, and none of it is.

  2. 02

    Verify the game files

In Steam: right-click Beautiful Light → Properties → Installed Files → Verify integrity of game files. A partial patch is the single most common cause of a game that launches and then fails to connect.

  3. 03

Restart the whole chain, in order

Game, then your launcher/Steam, then your router. People almost always do the first and skip the third — a stale router NAT table produces exactly the symptom people report as "servers down."

  4. 04

Rule out a VPN or restrictive network

A VPN fails matchmaking far more often than it fixes it, and so does a corporate or campus network that blocks the UDP ports a game server needs. If you're on a network you don't administer, that's the likely answer.

  5. 05

If it crashes rather than fails to connect, treat it as a crash

A game that starts and then dies, rather than never connecting, is usually a local fault — most often graphics drivers or overlay software, not the servers.

Beautiful Light server status: common questions

Is Beautiful Light down right now?

Beautiful Light isn't playable yet, so there's no service to be down. This page starts counting reports the moment the servers come up — no rebuild needed.

When exactly does Beautiful Light release in December 2026?

No exact day has been confirmed, and the month itself isn't locked in either. Steam's own store listing for Beautiful Light gives only "December 2026," with no day attached, and Deep Worlds' CEO Eric "Aherys" Rajot said so directly in Steam Discussions: "this is the farthest date we have for Beautiful Light. We will only announce a date once we are 100% sure about it." Treat December 2026 as an outer estimate, not a scheduled date. A "December 1, 2026" date circulating on some third-party release-calendar sites doesn't trace back to anything the studio has said — it reads like a calendar tool defaulting an unknown day to the 1st of the month, not a developer announcement.

Aherys' reply in Beautiful Light's Steam Discussions →

Is Beautiful Light's December 2026 window Early Access or the full 1.0 launch?

Early Access, not a full release. Beautiful Light's own Steam page splits its feature list into two named sections: "Early Access Features" (the core Raid mode, base tactical FPS mechanics, the anomaly-hunting mode, initial maps) and "Full Release Features" (a mercenary and contractor system, a full team/leaderboard system, more maps, and a "secret expedition" mode) — a distinction the studio drew itself, via its own Steamworks page. No 1.0 date, or even a 1.0 timeframe, has been discussed publicly yet.

I've already seen gameplay footage, or gotten into a test — isn't Beautiful Light already out?

No — what's out there is closed alpha and playtest access, not a release. Deep Worlds has been running invite-based community playtests through its Discord since 2023, and gameplay trailers and "Dev Update" videos have circulated for years while the game was still in pre-alpha and alpha. None of that is the same as a public launch: Steam's own listing still marks Beautiful Light "coming soon," and there's no public demo. If you're in a closed test right now, you're playing a pre-release build the wider public can't access yet.

Can I play Beautiful Light solo, or do I need a full 3-player squad — and is there a matchmaking queue?

Solo works, and it's more specific than a simple yes. Aherys confirmed the queue structure directly: "It's totally possible to play solo (without anyone with you), and there is a queue solo / duo, and a queue trio, as solo or duo, you can choose to join the queue for trio alone also, but trio can't." So solo players and duos share one queue and can opt into the harder trio queue if they want tougher lobbies, but a full 3-player squad can't drop down into the solo/duo queue. That's the matchmaking structure Deep Worlds has confirmed — nothing has been said about a separate login or server-capacity queue for Early Access opening day, which is worth watching given 700,000+ Steam wishlists.

Do I lose my gear if I get disconnected mid-raid in Beautiful Light?

Death costs you everything by design — Beautiful Light's own Steam description is explicit: "Each death means the failure of your mission and the loss of everything you brought with you." That's the core extraction-shooter loop Deep Worlds has built. What isn't confirmed is whether a disconnect is specifically treated as a death, or whether there's any reconnect grace period — Deep Worlds hasn't addressed that, and the game hasn't reached Early Access yet for anyone to test it at scale. Until stated otherwise, treat a disconnect as putting your loadout at risk the same way a death would.

Does Beautiful Light run on dedicated servers, or is it peer-to-peer?

Partially confirmed. Deep Worlds' CEO said in an interview that players will be able to "host servers on Beautiful Light (without progression)" — rented or self-hosted, protected with an access code, for playing privately with friends outside the main matchmaking pool. That confirms a dedicated-server model exists for at least that mode. What hasn't been named publicly is the infrastructure behind the main matchmade Raid mode itself — Deep Worlds hasn't said whether it runs on the studio's own dedicated servers, a third-party host, or something else.

What server regions does Beautiful Light have?

None published yet. Nothing in the Steam store page, the dev updates, or Steam Discussions breaks servers down by region — unlike some bigger launches on this site that confirm a region list ahead of time, Beautiful Light hasn't said anything region-specific. If you can't connect once Early Access opens, there's currently no way to know whether that's a regional problem or a wider one; check back here once the studio says more.

Is "Beautiful Light" enough to search for on its own?

Not really — "Beautiful Light" is a generic English phrase with its own Wikipedia disambiguation page, and it's also the title of a 1994 album by the American band the Fleshtones, among other unrelated results. Searching "Beautiful Light game" or "Beautiful Light extraction shooter" reliably surfaces Deep Worlds' game (Steam app 1313230) instead of everything else sharing the name.

Does Deep Worlds publish an official status page for Beautiful Light?

No dedicated status or uptime page exists. The closest official channels are the game's Steam news hub (app 1313230), Deep Worlds' own site at deepworlds.studio, the official Discord, and Steam Discussions, where Aherys personally replies to player questions. None of those are live status pages — they're announcements and community channels, the same gap this tracker exists to fill.

How does this tracker know Beautiful Light is down?

It doesn't measure Deep Worlds' servers directly — nobody outside the studio can. It counts distinct players reporting a problem and shows that next to Steam's concurrent player count as a second signal. Worth knowing right now specifically: Beautiful Light hasn't reached Early Access, so any current Steam player count reflects closed alpha and playtest activity, not the launch-scale audience its 700,000+ wishlists suggest. Once Early Access opens, both signals become far more meaningful. Reports are counted once per person, so repeatedly pressing the button doesn't move the number.

Incident history

Auto-logged from player reports over the last 30 days. An incident is a run of hours with at least six different players reporting in each, the same signal the verdict above responds to — so one frustrated player pressing a button repeatedly can never put an incident on this list.

No incidents logged in the last 30 days.
